1. About these terms

These Terms of Service (the "Terms") are an agreement between you and SFAI, the operator of MyouV ("MyouV", "we", "us"). They cover the MyouV website and web app, including signing in, writing stories, generating images and video clips, and viewing your "My videos" library (together, the "Service").

By creating an account or using the Service, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, please do not use the Service.

Our Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information. It is a separate document, and we encourage you to read it as well.

Some features may come with extra rules that we show you when you use them. If those rules conflict with these Terms, the extra rules apply to that feature.

2. Changes to the Service and these Terms

MyouV is in beta, so features, limits and designs will change, sometimes quickly. We may add, change or remove features at any time.

We may also update these Terms. When we do, we will change the "Last updated" date and post the new version on this page. For important changes, we will tell you by email or with a notice in the Service at least [notice period, e.g. 7 days] before they take effect, or at least [longer notice period, e.g. 30 days] before if a change is unfavorable to you.

If you keep using the Service after a change takes effect, the updated Terms apply. If you do not agree with a change, you can stop using the Service and close your account.

3. Who can use MyouV

You must be at least 14 years old to create an account. We do not accept accounts from children under 14.

If you are under the age of majority where you live (19 in the Republic of Korea), you need permission from a parent or legal guardian to use the Service. By giving permission, your parent or guardian agrees to these Terms for you and is responsible for your use of the Service.

You may not use the Service if the law where you live does not allow it, or if we have previously closed your account for breaking these Terms.

4. Your account

You sign in with an email address and password. Please give accurate information when you sign up and keep it up to date.

  • Use one account per person, and only for yourself.
  • Keep your password private and do not share your account with anyone.
  • Sign out when you use a shared or public device.
  • Tell us through our contact form as soon as you think someone else has used your account.

You are responsible for what happens under your account, except where it results from our fault or happens without any fault on your part.

5. Free beta, limits and future paid plans

During the beta, MyouV is free. We do not ask for payment details and we do not charge you anything.

Each account has a daily generation limit, currently 2 videos per day. We may adjust this limit to keep the Service stable and fair for everyone.

We plan to offer paid plans after the official launch. Before any charge, we will tell you the prices and terms. You will only be charged if you choose a paid plan and agree to it. The free features offered after launch may differ from the beta.

Beta features are experimental. They may not always work as expected, and they may change or be removed.

6. How creating with MyouV works

To create a video, you choose a fictional example artist and song from the MyouV catalog, write a story, and pick a style and format. Your choices and story are saved as a project. MyouV turns your story into scene prompts and sends them to our AI video provider, Runway, which generates images and short video clips. The results appear in your "My videos" library.

A few things to know about AI generation:

  • Generated clips are short and have no sound of their own. When audio is available for the song you picked, MyouV plays it with your scenes and adds it to the full video download.
  • Results vary. The same story can produce different scenes, and different users can receive similar ones.
  • Results may not match your story exactly and may contain mistakes or unexpected details.
  • Our AI provider applies its own safety filters. A prompt that a filter flags may be blocked.
  • Generation can take time, be delayed or fail, especially when demand is high.

7. Fan content rules

MyouV is built for fan creativity with fictional example artists. To keep it safe and fair, you must not use the Service to create, upload, name or prompt:

  • The face, likeness, voice or name of a real person, including real idols, celebrities and people you know.
  • Song lyrics, music, artwork or other material protected by someone else's copyright.
  • Logos, brand names or other trademarks that belong to third parties.
  • Sexual or sexually suggestive content. Content that sexualizes minors is never allowed and may be reported to the authorities.
  • Hateful, violent, threatening or harassing content, or content that targets a person or group.
  • Deepfakes, impersonation, or content meant to make people believe something false is real or official.
  • Anything illegal, or anything that violates another person's privacy or other rights.

You also must not:

  • Try to get around safety filters, daily limits or other protections.
  • Use bots, scrapers or other automated tools to access the Service or collect data from it.
  • Interfere with the Service, its security or other users, for example by uploading malicious code or overloading our systems.
  • Copy, reverse engineer or resell the Service, or use it or its outputs to build a competing product.
  • Pretend to be SFAI, MyouV or anyone else.

8. Your stories and generated videos

Your story text

You own the story text and prompts you write (your "input"). We do not claim ownership of it. You confirm that you have the right to submit everything you put into the Service.

Generated images and videos

The images and video clips the Service creates from your input are called "outputs". During the beta, you may use your outputs for personal, non-commercial fan purposes, such as watching them and sharing them with friends or on your personal social media accounts. Commercial use, such as selling outputs or using them in advertising, is not allowed during the beta.

Please keep in mind:

  • Outputs may not be unique. Other users may receive similar images or clips.
  • AI-generated material may not be protected by copyright in some countries, so we cannot promise that you hold exclusive rights in an output.
  • We do not grant you any rights in real artists, songs, likenesses or trademarks. If an output resembles a real person or work, that does not give you permission to use it.
  • The fictional artists, songs and catalog images are part of the Service and remain ours. You may use them inside your outputs as described above, but not on their own.

The permission you give us

To run the Service, you allow SFAI to store, copy, process, display and transmit your input and outputs, including to our AI and hosting providers. This permission is worldwide, free of charge and non-exclusive. It covers only what we need to operate, secure and support the Service for you. It ends when the content is deleted, except for copies we must keep by law or that remain in backups for a limited time.

9. Our rights in MyouV

SFAI and its licensors own the Service, including its software, design, the MyouV name and logo, the fictional artist and song catalog, and the catalog images. These Terms do not transfer any of those rights to you.

We give you a personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable and revocable permission to use the Service for its intended purpose while you follow these Terms.

Please do not remove copyright or other notices, display our pages inside another website, or use our name or logo in a way that suggests we endorse you.

10. Feedback

We welcome ideas and suggestions. If you send us feedback, you allow us to use it to improve MyouV without paying you or owing you anything for it. Please do not include confidential information in feedback.

11. Reviewing content and reporting problems

We do not review every story or output in advance, but we may use automated tools and human review to check content for safety and for compliance with these Terms. Our AI provider also runs its own checks.

We may remove or block content, limit features, or suspend an account if we reasonably believe that content or activity breaks these Terms or the law, or puts users or others at risk. Where it is reasonable and the law allows, we will tell you what we did and why.

We may share information with authorities when the law requires it or when it is needed to protect someone's safety, as described in our Privacy Policy.

Reporting copyright and other rights problems

If you believe content on MyouV infringes your copyright, likeness or other rights, please contact us through our contact form and include:

  • Your name and contact details.
  • A description of the work or right you believe was infringed.
  • Where the content appears on MyouV, with enough detail for us to find it.
  • A statement that you believe in good faith that the use is not authorized, and that your report is accurate.
  • Whether you are the rights holder or are acting on their behalf.

We will review reports promptly and may remove content while we look into them. We may close the accounts of users who repeatedly infringe the rights of others.

12. Storage of your videos

During the beta, we keep your outputs in your "My videos" library, but we cannot promise permanent storage. Outputs may become unavailable if a provider link expires, if we change how storage works, or if your account is closed.

We recommend keeping your own copy of any output you want to keep, where the Service allows it.

We may set reasonable limits on storage and processing, such as the number of videos kept per account. Where we reasonably can, we will tell you before we delete stored outputs because of a change in our storage approach.

13. Third-party services

The Service relies on third parties, including Runway for AI generation and our website hosting and database platform. Their services can be interrupted or changed, which may affect MyouV.

The Service may link to other websites. We do not control them and are not responsible for their content or practices.

14. Closing your account and ending these Terms

These Terms apply from the time you first use the Service until your account is closed.

You can stop using MyouV at any time. To close your account and delete your data, contact us through our contact form.

We may suspend or close your account if you seriously or repeatedly break these Terms, if the law requires it, or if we stop offering the Service. Except in urgent cases, such as illegal content or a security risk, we will give you notice first and, where appropriate, a chance to respond. If we shut down the Service, we will tell you in advance.

When your account is closed, your access ends and we delete your account data and outputs as described in our Privacy Policy. If we closed your account for breaking these Terms, please do not create a new one.

Parts of these Terms that by their nature should continue, such as those on ownership, disclaimers, liability and disputes, still apply after your account is closed.

15. Disclaimers

MyouV is a free beta service. We work to keep it running well, but to the extent the law allows, we provide it "as is" and "as available". We do not promise that it will always be available, error free or secure, or that outputs will meet your expectations.

Outputs are created by AI and may be inaccurate, unexpected or similar to other content. You are responsible for how you use and share them.

Nothing in these Terms limits rights you have as a consumer that cannot be excluded under applicable law, including Korean consumer protection law.

16. Limitation of liability

SFAI is responsible for damage caused by our intentional misconduct or gross negligence, and for any other liability that cannot be excluded by law.

Otherwise, to the extent the law allows, we are not liable for:

  • Indirect or special damages, such as lost profits or lost opportunities, unless we knew or could reasonably have foreseen them.
  • Damage caused by your own breach of these Terms, or by your failure to keep your account secure.
  • Interruptions caused by events outside our reasonable control, such as network failures, natural disasters or outages at our providers.
  • Disputes between you and other people about content you created or shared.
  • Loss of outputs stored in the Service during the beta, where you did not keep your own copy.

17. Your responsibility for claims

If someone makes a claim against SFAI because you broke these Terms or the law, or because your input infringed their rights, you agree to help us resolve it and to cover the resulting losses and reasonable costs, to the extent they were caused by you and to the extent the law allows.

18. Governing law and disputes

These Terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of Korea.

If you have a problem with MyouV, please contact us first through our contact form. We will try to resolve it with you quickly and fairly.

If we cannot resolve a dispute together, it will be heard by [competent court, e.g. Seoul Central District Court], unless the law gives you the right to bring your claim in another court, such as a court where you live.

If you live outside Korea, you also keep any mandatory consumer protections that the law of your country gives you.

19. General terms

  • We may send notices to the email address on your account or show them in the Service. You can reach us through our contact form.
  • You may not transfer your account or these Terms to anyone else. We may transfer these Terms to a company that takes over MyouV. If that happens, we will tell you, and your rights under these Terms and the law stay the same.
  • We are not responsible for delays or failures caused by events we cannot reasonably control.
  • These Terms are written in English. If we publish a Korean version, [which language version prevails].
  • If we do not enforce part of these Terms right away, we can still enforce it later.
  • If a court finds part of these Terms invalid, the rest still applies.
  • These Terms, our Privacy Policy and any feature rules we show you are the whole agreement between you and SFAI about the Service.
